More than 100,000 of Pattaya people joined the food offering to 2,000 Monks and Novices. It was to dedicate for the Royal Merit in the occasion of National Mother‘s Day 2008 and to help the hierarchy of 266 temples who had been encountered with danger in the 4 provinces in the South of Thailand.

On August 10th, 2008, at 6 am, on North Pattaya road, from Pattaya city hall going along to Dolphin roundabout, Prakru Wijit-thamasathan, monk dean of Banglamung district, Chonburi, honorably chaired for the monks section in the ceremony of the first and the great food offering merit to 2,000 monks in Pattaya. Mr. Itthipol Khun-pluem, Pattaya Mayor and Mr.Surasit Chai-trakulthong, president of Morals and Environment rehabilitated society chaired the ceremony among Buddhists and foreigners who joined offering food to the monks.

Mr. Surasit Chai-trakulthong said that the food offering to 2,000 monks in Pattaya was one of the food offering projects of 500,000 monks in 76 provinces, in order to hold the Buddhist religious service in occasion of Mother\'s Day. Parts of the merited necessity will go to help the monks in 266 temples from the 4 provinces in the South that had encountered the danger. This activity had been cooperated among the Buddhist Organization, Hierarchies in Chonburi, Morals and Environment rehabilitated society, Pattaya city, including government and private sectors.
