Police Lieutenant Colonel Tanagrit from Pattaya Police Station made his way to the Arunothai School in Central Pattaya on Wednesday Afternoon to investigate a robbery of 500,000 Baht from a Teachers car. The suspected thieves were believed to be of foreign origin. The investigating officer was met by the victim of the theft, Khun SongPRO_N aged 48, who works at the School. She led Police to her car, a Black Honda Accord. One of the rear tyres had been punctured with what appeared to a sharp piece of metal.
She was taken to the Police Station to make a report of the theft and she begun by explaining that earlier in the day she had gone to the Krung-Si Ayuthaya Bank in Central Pattaya to withdraw the cash which she intended to use for house renovations. She received the money in a brown paper bag which she placed on the back seat of the car.
As she was driving back to the school she noticed a problem with her car and as she pulled up to the school, she was approached by three foreign men who had parked up in a Black Toyota Yaris. One of the men approached her and informed her of the tyre puncture. She was distracted for a time which is when a second man apparently removed the bag full of money, from the back seat of the car.
Police checked the number plate of the suspect’s car and found it to be rented from a Car Rental Shop in Jomtien. The car was rented to a Middle Eastern Man who left his passport details. Arrest warrants for three men have been issued and Police anticipate arresting the men very soon.
