We now report on a press conference and arrest of a Chinese Tour Operator coming from the Immigration Office in Soi 5 off Jomtien Beach. We begin with the press conference led by Police Colonel Wachara, the Deputy Commander of Immigration Police for Central Thailand who was joined by Police Colonel Itipon, the Superintendent of Pattaya’s Immigration Office and other senior officers. Three separate cases were presented to the gathered media. The first case announced the arrest of six Uzbekistani Women and two Thai man accused of being involved in a prostitution ring whereby the women would offer sexual services and a portion of the money would go to the Thai Agents and two Uzbekistani Agents who would arrange the illegal liaisons.

The group was caught in an undercover operation conducted at the Gulf Siam Hotel in North Pattaya whereby Foreign Undercover operatives were used to catch the suspected Prostitutes and agents. In two other cases, Immigration Officers arrested Mr. Anthony Craig Thomas Murphy aged 46 from England on Walking Street. Immigration Officers were given information that his passport and visa had expired. This was found to be correct and he is now facing deportation from Thailand. The Third case announced the arrest of Mr.

Gunter Chuse aged 59 from Germany who was caught shoplifting at the Carrefour Shopping Center in Central Pattaya. He is also facing deportation. On Friday Afternoon, Police Captain Achib from the Immigration Office arrested a Chinese Tour Operator who was also caught shoplifting at the Carrefour Shopping Center earlier on Friday. Mr. Soon Jin Lee aged 53 was caught by security guards attempting to leave the center with a woman’s shirt and 13 DVD and VCD movies without paying for the goods.

Mr. Lee was arrested and taken to the Immigration Office where he explained that he worked for a Chinese Tour Company here in Pattaya and in his spare time, he would go to the Shopping Center and steal items for his own personal use. He was charged with theft and is now also facing deportation from Thailand.
