Police Sub-Lieutenant Bitishon from Sattahip Police Station was called to the Sukumvit Road in the early hours of Friday Morning to deal with a serious road accident which left one man dead. At the scene, the body of Petty Officer Second Class Sutipong aged 24 was lying in the road and his friend, Petty Officer Third Class Tirapong aged 22 was lying injured in the road. Khun Tirapong explained that he was driving a motorbike and Khun Sutipong was riding as passenger. Sustained rainfall resulted in hazardous road conditions and as he begun to initiate a left turn off the Sukumvit Road, he lost control of the bike.

Although the dead man was wearing a helmet, it was not strapped on and fell off as he was thrown from the bike. He sustained a fatal head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. There is a suspicion that the driver was intoxicated, however this has not been confirmed by investigators who will investigate further when the injured man is released from Hospital.
